Cookie Policy

Most cookie policies describe categories because the list is too long to print. Ours is two cookies, so here is the actual list.

The Cookies We Set

In plain terms: Two first-party cookies keep your account and private deal files secure.

Name: "kairos-session". Set by: kairosexchange.com (first-party). Purpose: keeps you signed in and secures your account actions - it holds a signed session token, is httpOnly (not readable by scripts), and is sent only to our own site. Lifespan: up to 30 days, or until you log out. Category: strictly necessary - the signed-in parts of the site cannot work without it.

Name: "kairos-document-step-up". Set by: kairosexchange.com (first-party). Purpose: remembers that you entered your current password before opening private deal files, so one data-room review does not ask again for every file. It is signed, httpOnly, limited to deal pages, and contains only your user ID, an expiry time, and a document-only scope. Lifespan: 15 minutes. Category: strictly necessary - it protects private deal documents while keeping the vault usable.

Because both cookies are strictly necessary for the service you asked for, EU and UK ePrivacy rules do not require a consent banner for them. That is why you do not see one.

What We Deliberately Do Not Do

In plain terms: No analytics, no ad pixels, no tracking of any kind.

No analytics cookies. No advertising cookies or pixels. No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting. No selling or sharing of browsing data. If this ever changes, this page changes first and a consent mechanism arrives with it.

Third-Party Pages During Payment and Signing

In plain terms: When a flow hands you to Stripe, DocuSign, or Escrow.com, those pages set their own cookies under their own policies.

Some steps happen on another company's pages: paying a deposit runs through Stripe Checkout, signing deal documents runs through DocuSign, and escrow runs on Escrow.com. Cookies set while you are on their pages are theirs, governed by their cookie policies, and outside our control. Nothing from those services runs on Kairos pages.

Managing Cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie signs you out. Clearing the document step-up cookie makes the file vault ask for your password again. Questions: info@kairosexchange.com.
